Welcome to SIL's new training series dedicated to supporting Additional Adults, TAs and LSAs. Sessions are designed to provide CPD on a range of essential topics, equipping your staff with the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in their role.
The Tier 3 Additional Adult series is suitable for experienced members of staff and offers an opportunity to reflect, deepen knowledge, and refine skills in supporting children within school settings.
Whether you’re looking to update your understanding or explore new approaches, these sessions provide focused, practical insights into key areas of inclusive practice , always remembering the importance of safeguarding.
What does the series cover?
Sessions are designed to support professional development, build confidence, and ensure that Additional Adults, TAs and LSAs feel prepared to contribute meaningfully to the classroom and to each child's learning experience.

They provide
- An essential foundational knowledge to help you get started confidently.
- Practical guidance on supporting teaching and learning, understanding children's needs, and fostering an inclusive environment.
- An opportunity to quickly develop key skills such as effective communication, safeguarding awareness, and observing children’s behaviour, all of which are vital for making a positive difference from day one.
Things to consider
- Sessions will last between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
- ‘Pause for Thought’, moments will encourage reflection or provide opportunities to break the session into shorter segments, accommodating different learning preferences and needs.
- All sessions can also be delivered face to face, and some could be combined to provide a half /full day training opportunity for staff in your school, Network, Trust or LA. Get in touch if you would like to explore options.
