Science: Working Scientifically (Curriculum Professional Development)

This recording looks at all aspects of working scientifically in the primary science curriculum and gives examples for each year group of how this could be taught.

What does it cover?

Working scientifically in primary science is important as it helps children develop the skills and mindset needed to explore, question, and understand the world around them.

Working scientifically means asking questions, making predictions and investigating ideas. This nurtures children's natural curiosity and helps them become active learners, not just passive receivers of facts.

“The video is really clear and is full of good examples…it is a useful resource for just refreshing staff on the different enquiry types and has some good examples which will help us develop what we are doing further.”
