Course Overview
This course allows newly appointed SENDCos and Assistant SENDCos to consider their role in meeting needs of children and young people with SEND. This training reflects the expectations of the 2025 Ofsted inspection framework, which places inclusion and SEND at the centre of school evaluation, requiring SENDCos to lead strategically across identification, curriculum access and whole school improvement
Why Attend?
· Develop your understanding of the strategic leadership role of the SENDCo and the processes involved in the Graduated Approach to meeting needs of children and young people with SEND.
· Understand how the new five tier grading system and the standalone inclusion/SEND category influence the SENDCo’s strategic role, and how to evidence effective practice through the Graduated Approach.
What will it cover?
· Consider how the SENDCo, in their strategic role, can support a child/young person, their family and colleagues through the Graduated Approach
