About the Organisation

This is an exciting opportunity for an existing headteacher or deputy headteacher looking for the next step in their career. We are looking for an inspirational, pupil-focused individual who will lead St Anne (Stanley) Church of England Primary & Nursery School in the next stage of its development. The new headteacher will be at the heart of this work and will work closely with the school leadership team, wider colleagues, families, the Governing Body and of course the pupils to achieve our vision of excellent and equitable opportunities.

St Anne (Stanley) CofE Primary & Nursery School is a vibrant and exciting place to learn and work, situated at the heart of the community of Old Swan. It is rightly proud of its foundations within the Church of England and enjoys strong links with the local church of St Anne Stanley and the Diocese of Liverpool. Excitingly we are in the process of a new school build, with plans drawn and monies secured. Building should begin in the autumn of this year with an expectation of moving into our new building in the Spring of 2028.

About the Role

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an exceptional Headteacher following the retirement of our current Headteacher after 29 years in our school, as teacher, deputy and finally as head. We are looking for an inspirational, values driven leader with the vision, warmth and determination to make real impacts in our school. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, forward-thinking professional with a track record of successful school improvement leadership within the primary age range. We are looking for an inspirational leader to continue the improvement journey for the school, building on the strong work of the existing leadership, while demonstrating commitment to the Christian values and ethos that underpin it all. You will have the knowledge, experience and resilience to drive improvement throughout the school, with the interpersonal skills to motivate others and lead our team. You will be committed to providing a rich and engaging curriculum and promoting an inclusive ‘can do’ culture where all can flourish, following our statement of ‘many hearts make a school’.
