About the School
Sandfield Park is one school with three educational sites, that individually serve the needs of young people with a wide range of physical, medical, emotional and learning difficulties. We work with children on three main sites: Sandfield Alder Hey Hospital Education Alder Centre for Education (ACE) Each of our sites has its own unique character. Sandfield caters for pupils with learning difficulties, a range of physical disabilities and complex medical needs.

Alder Hey Hospital Education, teaches children who are patients on the hospital wards. The Alder Centre for Education, ACE, provides an education for students who live in Liverpool and cannot attend their own school for medical reasons.

School Vision and Values
We believe that all young people should have the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential and the school seeks to achieve this not only through the formal curriculum on offer to each child but also through an extensive range of extra curricular activities.

Sandfield Park School is committed to the belief that all pupils have the right to an education that will prepare and develop them in the best possible way for their future lives.

Aims of the School

  • To work closely with parents and a range of outside agencies to provide support for pupils and help provide them with the widest possible range of experiences.

About the Role
Home Teacher - Three Posts
The Governing body would like to appoint three suitably qualified and enthusiastic teachers to join the staff of this welcoming and supportive school.

The persons appointed would be expected to teach Maths, English and Science to pupils in their home from KS1 to KS4. Alder Centre for Education (ACE) provides the Section 19 support for mainstream pupils who are unable to attend their own school due to problems with health.

This includes mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. A significant number of pupils also have a diagnosis of ASD and/or ADHD. ACE is committed to providing children with an education which enables them to receive the individual attention that they require.

The successful candidates would be appointed to Sandfield Park School and while the post would initially be for Home Tuition, if circumstances required, the person(s) might be expected to work across any area of the school. See full Job Description Below.
